Church Street Historic District contains many buildings constructed from 1820's to the early 1900s of varying architectural styles including Federal, Greek revival, Italianate, Queen Anne and Victorian. Notable buildings in the district include the 1836 Government Street Presbyterian Church, Barton Academy, and the Church Street Graveyard.
