Founded in 1843 as a supply stop on the Oregon Trail, Fort Bridger State Historic Site has also served as a Mormon settlement and a military outpost. Today, visitors can see several restored military buildings, and a reconstruction of the trading post, alongside an archaeological site from the Mormon period.
