Smaller than Lake Louise, Moraine Lake has a fame all its own: in 1969 and 1979, the view of the mountains behind Moraine Lake was selected for the reverse side of the Canadian twenty dollar bill. The lake's exquisite teal green color is caused by rock flour from passing glaciers.
