Founded in 1976, Roanoke Island's aqarium is a combination of the North Carolina Marine Resources Center, Pine Knoll Shores and Fort Fisher to provide one area to inspire visitors to appreciate and conserve the North Carolina aquatic environments. Tours are provided, with outdoor programs including kayak, standup paddleboarding, star gazing and other adventures. Indoors, be an employee for the day, go behind the scenes, and feed wildlife like rays and sharks. Sleepovers and swimming with the sharks are special programs you may enjoy, as well.
