Covering more than 1.8 million acres, the Ouachita National Forest provides opportunities to camp, hike, bike, trail ride, boat, hunt, fish, and go on scenic drives. The government created the national forest to control wood production, improve the watershed, and protect threatened wildlife and fish species.
