Established in 1946 by Nathan and Jessie Paine, owners of the Paine Lumber Company, the Paine Arts Center and Garden was originally intended to be their home. At the center, visitors can see an Alois Lang hand carved staircase featuring acorn motif, a Jacobean period library, and the formal gardens.
