Palo Alto Battlefield National Historic Site

The prairie of Palo Alton is where the United States and Mexican troops collided in 1846, and the Palo Alto Battlefield National Historic Site attempts to preserve the actual battlefield and any related artifacts from the era. Interpretive programs and special events are also held frequently throughout the year.
