Visitors to Johnson City's Tipton-Haynes Historic Site experience one of the most important historical areas in the state. The house and its outbuildings were built in the late 18th century by Colonel John Tipton. Since 1970, the Tipton-Haynes Historic Site has been a nationally-recognized historical site.
