The Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area has Oregon's tallest lighthouse that has been used to guide sailors since August 20, 1873. The natural area also has Cobble Beach where millions of round basalt rocks make an applause sound against the ocean waves, and is popular for marine wildlife viewing.
